Chemical Spillage Control Training
This 1-day training will prepare participants on how to handle emergencies in the event of a chemical spill and the emergency protocols to be executed. The course begins with a theory session where a comprehensive explanation on the key aspects of chemical spill control, from receiving the chemical for operational use until the final disposal of chemical waste is given.
The theory session is followed by a practical session where the participant will fully apply the knowledge gained from the theory session. The program consists of detailed presentation and videos, practical demonstrations, group work, individual exercises, interactive discussions, activation of emergency response team as per procedure and simulation evaluation by trainer.
After completion of both theory and practical sessions, participants are expected to be capable of handling a chemical spill at their workplace. A pre-training and post-training test for participants will be conducted.
Course Objective
Upon completion of this training, the participants will be able to:
- Have knowledge of Malaysia legal requirements related to chemical handling.
- Have knowledge of the proper method for chemical handling, storage and labelling.
- Have knowledge of the proper method for chemical waste handling and disposal.
- Have knowledge of the required protective measures for chemical handling such as PPE.
- Demonstrate emergency measures in the case of chemical spillage.

Certifications and Validity
Upon completion and passing of the course, participants will be awarded the Certificate of Training. Without retraining, the knowledge and skills may deteriorate while not being in used or practised. Thus, yearly retraining is highly recommended.
